Hyperpigmentation has many causes. Hyperpigmentation caused by scabs from acne or PIH – Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation is best treated with regular peels slowly but consistently. Hypo-pigmentation is when the skin is void of pigment. This occurs when there is an injury to the deeper layer of the skin. A scar may or may not be present. Prevention is a pound of cure and feeding your skin the nutrients it needs to be stronger and healthier comes from regular treatments and home care both inside and out. The following is a broad stroke of treatments to best address the cause and keep it at bay and know that these treatments will require consistency in order to properly benefit what the end results are. STRETCH MARKS AND Scarring

Scarring or Stretchmarks is a difficult condition based on the severity, age and depth. These can be reversed. Multiple treatments are recommended and only specific treatments have the most benefit.

  • Microdermabrasion for skin resurfacing
  • Microneedling to dismantle scar tissue and promote collagen remodelling

Broken Capillaries

Broken Capillaries medically referred to as Telangiectasia, are most noticeable in thinner skin becoming more prevalent with age as skin thins. The best method of removal is with electrocautery causing electrocoagulation ceasing blood supply to the capillary. Generally 1-2 treatments.  Whereas multiple treatments are required with IPL

  • Electrocautery
  • Although we do not currently offer it – IPL for Skin Types I -III

MELASMA Light Becomes dark

Unbeknownst to a lot of people, Melasma may appear dark but that is only after it surfaces. Fueled by blood it begins in the lower level of the dermis, dermal melasma. Caused by the disfunction of melanocytes once it is white in the deeper layers of the skin it becomes gray or brown patches at the surface of the skin. As hormones fluctuation so with the light and darkness of the melasma. Peels are the best option, not even lasers as the heat and light from a laser can create flareups if the frequency is too low or too high.
