DERMAPLANING
FACIALS
Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive form of physical exfoliation
How it works
Dermaplaning facials involves using a sterile surgical scalpel to remove dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the face. The scalpel is gently moved across the skin at a 45-degree angle to remove the top layer of skin, revealing a smoother and brighter complexion. Unlike chemical exfoliation, which uses acids to remove dead skin cells, dermaplaning relies on the physical action of the scalpel. It is a safe and effective treatment for improving skin texture and helping skincare products penetrate more effectively. At LA CLINICA we are offering dermaplaning in Toronto. Visit us today!

Your Treatment
Beginning on dry skin for the most grip and using short repetitive strokes gliding gently along the skin. After the passes are complete your skin is cleansed with an enzyme cleaner followed by either a marula mask or gentle chemical foaming exfoliant. Ultrasonic scrubber is used to clear out any remaining debris in the nasal area and the skin is cooled with a gel mask and tightened with a hiqh frequency wand. This process will make your skin invigorated, firmed and shiny.
Which skin Types can have dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a great exfoliating option for all skin types. This makes it stand out against laser resurfacing and peels, which may not be suitable for all skin types. It is also a good option for pregnant women or people with sensitive skin who are not able to use certain products and or thinner skin who need support in “de-gluing” dead cells.
HOw to prepare & Maintain
Be sure not to have any open sores, broken skin and stay away from any actives such as retinol to avoid any sensitivities during and post treatment. You should hold off on dermaplaning if you have a recent tan, sunburn, active acne, a flaring rosacea breakout, or an inflammatory skin condition such as eczema or psoriasis. If you have any pitted acne scars this is not the best treatment for you as the blade can get caught in irregular textured skin.
It is always important to protect your skin daily but especially post treatments from the sun right after a dermaplaning procedure, as it can make the skin more photosensitive which can contribute to hyperpigmentation.
