Job Description

MAU is hiring a Maintenance Manager for our client in Baltimore, MD. As a Maintenance Manager, you will ensure the smooth operation of the facility by overseeing all maintenance activities. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, electricians, and installation technicians, collaborating with engineers to foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred but not required
  • 5+ years of experience supervising maintenance teams, ideally within a manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, or industrial environment
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance and/or reliability of industrial equipment and manufacturing systems

General Requirements:

  • Familiarity with unionized work environments and collective bargaining agreements
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues efficiently

Preferred Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and maintenance best practices
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to motivate and inspire teams
  • Expertise in developing and implementing effective maintenance strategies, SOPs, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of budget management principles, with hands-on experience overseeing maintenance budgets

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure full adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety awareness among the maintenance team
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards proactively
  • Lead and motivate the maintenance team, setting clear expectations and fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment
  • Delegate tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and guide to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities
  • Drive initiatives to optimize equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and lower maintenance costs. Implement innovative maintenance practices, technologies, and systems to improve operational efficiency
  • Develop, review, and revise SOPs for maintenance tasks to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards
  • Communicate updates and changes to relevant stakeholders
  • Design and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure maintenance personnel are skilled in procedures, equipment operation, and safety
  • Collaborate with HR and training departments to create customized training based on identified needs
  • Set KPIs and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance activities
  • Analyze performance data and produce regular reports to track progress, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve maintenance processes
  • Partner with finance to develop and manage the maintenance budget, effectively allocating resources
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to meet budget targets
  • Build strong relationships with union representatives, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements
  • Address employee concerns and grievances promptly, resolving issues through open communication and collaboration
