About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Merchandise Planning and Inventory to play a pivotal role in the strategic development and execution of merchandise and inventory initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and overseeing the overall merchandise planning and inventory strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise business goals, and leading a large cross-functional team through transformative improvements. This leadership position demands a passionate individual with a proven track record in a high-growth, omni-retail environment, capable of driving operational and process excellence, and optimizing current and future capabilities. The VP will be accountable for long-range financial goals, forecasting accuracy, and inventory management, and will work in close collaboration with various business partners to implement profitable inventory management processes that drive revenue and margins. Candidates for this role at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (preferred) and a minimum of 12 years' of progressive experience in merchandise planning and inventory, with a focus on omni-retail. The role requires the ability to lead a large team, manage change effectively, and communicate with a collaborative management style. Strong business and financial analysis skills, retail math acumen, and experience with inventory optimization strategies are essential. The ideal candidate will have a background in leading large organizational change, be adept at building strong business cases, and have advanced computer skills. Experience with forecasting and replenishment, financial planning, and allocation systems is also preferred.
