Company: Fortune 500 Automobile Machinery Manufacturing Company

Where: Torrance, CA (Hybrid 3 days per week)

Pay Rate : 45-55/hour

Term: Long term contract

Job Description:

• Honda is seeking an experienced and talented UX designer to create experiences that solve both business and customer problems. You will collaborate with the UX team product owners developers and other stakeholders to understand customer needs and explore solutions at both the conceptual and detailed design level.
• Form a cohesive experience across touchpoints including apps websites and the in-vehicle experience.
• Create wireframes mockups and interactive prototypes to convey proposed experiences.
• Map out comprehensive user flows to visualize potential pathways.
• Follow direction from the UX Lead and leadership team.
• Leverage research and data to understand user needs and make evidence-based decisions.
• Help to determine the design strategy for products and programs.
• Conduct experience audits and structure the information architecture.
• Generate competitive and analogous experience analyses.
• Help to determine experience improvement prioritization.
• Form and evolve personas and align experiences with their needs and context.
• Conduct sprint reviews and User Acceptance Testing and partner with development teams to ensure that what is delivered aligns with what was designed.
• Use frameworks such as Jobs-to-be-Done to uncover deeper needs and opportunities.
• Design at both at the conceptual and detailed levels and deliver high quality work on time.
• Present work at design reviews UX crits sprint reviews and business reviews.
• Advocate for the customer and encourage empathy from stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Bachelors degree in design human computer interaction or similar. Or equivalent work experience.
• Strong verbal and visual communication presentation and storytelling capabilities.
• Experience in design thinking and human centered design methodologies and conducting workshops.
• Experience with design tools such as Figma and Mural.
• Experience working within an agile process.
• Demonstrate a growth mindset be open-minded and curious.
• Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail.
• Flexible and adaptable able to work through ambiguity.

Desired

• MBA or graduate degree.
• Skills in specific design disciplines including UI/visual design content design conversational design.
• Ability to plan and conduct UX research.
• Expertise in design strategy.

Experience in the automotive or energy industries
