Job Details

• The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care.
• In this role, the RN will be responsible for working alongside an interdisciplinary team to provide day-to-day care of children and adolescents, ages 6-18, on an inpatient Adolescent behavioral unit.
• The primary diagnosis' that are treated are major depression and ADD/ADHD.
• He/She will be responsible for medication administration and education, daily documentation of patient care and managing/monitoring behaviors throughout the unit.
• Additionally, the RN will participate in and lead education groups.

Job Requirements

• Associates Degree in Nursing required
• Valid State of Maine RN license required
• BLS certification required
• 1-3 years previous nursing experience working with adults preferred
• At least 1 year previous nursing experience required
• CPI Trained
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to manage stress appropriately
• Ability to set strong professional boundaries
• Dedicated team player
• Self-directed, able to stay busy in down time.

Schedule Information

• Candidates must be willing to float to Chemical Dependency/Detox.
• Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
• St. Mary's has the right to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13 week contract.

Unit Specific Information

• Inpatient Adolescent behavioral unit.

Additional Details

• Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered. Please do not submit.
• Maine Residents Must reside outside of a 50 mile radius.
• Travelers with hits on background/license will not be accepted.
