PRIDE Health is seeking a travel nurse RN Behavioral Health Director for a travel nursing job in Brooklyn, New York.
Job Title: Director of Nursing (Behavioral/Psych) Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (Behavioral/Psych) to lead and oversee nursing operations in our Behavioral Health division. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring compliance with nursing standards, driving quality improvement initiatives, and fostering staff development. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with extensive experience in psychiatric/behavioral health nursing, a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, and a passion for delivering patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities: ✅ Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement nursing department goals and policies. ✅ Ensure appropriate staffing levels and execute effective recruitment and retention strategies. ✅ Provide direct supervision and mentorship to Assistant Directors of Nursing, Nurse Managers, and Administrative Nursing Coordinators. ✅ Maintain full compliance with NYSDOH, JCAHO, and other regulatory agencies. ✅ Lead performance improvement initiatives and data-driven quality enhancement projects. ✅ Develop and oversee nursing policies, standards, and best practices. ✅ Assist in budget planning and management for the department. ✅ Foster professional growth and development among nursing staff. ✅ Oversee counseling, discipline, and performance evaluations of nursing personnel. ✅ Promote a culture of teamwork, innovation, and high-quality patient care. Required Skills & Qualifications: 🔹 Strong critical thinking, leadership, and decision-making abilities. 🔹 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word and data analysis. 🔹 Expertise in TQM (Total Quality Management), CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement), and Root Cause Analysis. 🔹 Familiarity with behavioral health regulations and quality improvement models. 🔹 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 🔹 Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment. 🔹 Physical capability to perform job functions, including lifting up to 35 lbs, prolonged standing/walking, and manual dexterity. Education & Experience: 🎓 Required: ✔ BSN from an accredited nursing program. ✔ Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field OR ✔ Minimum 10 years of relevant administrative/supervisory experience in behavioral health nursing. 🎓 Preferred: ✔ Doctorate in Nursing (DNP or PhD) preferred.
