About

We're the San Francisco Compute Company. We're building the first real-time trading platform for compute. Everyone from startups to enterprises to research labs and individuals can buy and sell compute, from 1 to 1000+ nodes for an hour to over a year. With our liquid market to resell unused compute hours, buyers no longer need to worry about contract lock-in and providers have less idle nodes. Over the next decade, we anticipate thousands of enterprises, governments, startups, and labs will be training and serving large models, and we’re building a team to scale our market.

About the Role

As a systems software engineer, you’ll be contributing to our Kubernetes orchestration system. This system coordinates state and access to hundreds (soon thousands) of GPU compute nodes in multi-tenant clusters spanning across multiple data centers. Some responsibilities of the role include:

• Design, development and deployment of software systems built on top of Kubernetes to manage large scalable GPU clusters
• Design and deployment of multi-tier high performance network attached storage systems

About You

• You have built fault tolerant distributed systems before that can manage hardware resources at scale
• You have experience writing Kubernetes operators and controllers
• You’ve worked with GPU clusters (L40, A100, H100, MI300x, MI350x, etc.)
• You appreciate and value good documentation

Some Nice to Haves

• Experience with Go or Rust (3+ years)
• Experience with high performance storage systems (WEKA, VAST, Ceph, etc.)
