This position requires a technically proficient Cable Technician with strong problem-solving skills.

You will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure, including copper and fiber optic cabling, wireless access points, and security systems.

Your ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues is essential to the success of this role.

This is a long-term Contract position and you must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Structure Cable Technician

Essential Job Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

• Installation of Copper and Fiber Optic cabling systems for both OSP and ISP projects
• Terminate, test and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cabling
• Shipboard cable installation
• WAP installation
• Complete closet build-outs
• Design, installation, and servicing IDS, CCTV, and Access Control Systems
• Troubleshoot system issues and provide resolution
• Complete daily documentation for work performed

Responsibilities

• Install category 6 and fiber cabling.
• Perform cable terminations and testing to ensure proper signal transmission
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate installations and ensure timely completion of projects

Experience

• Previous experience as a Cable Technician or in a related field is preferred
• Knowledge of electrical and telecommunication systems
• Familiarity with Cisco routers and computer networking
• Mechanical knowledge for equipment installation and maintenance
• Experience in network installation, including Ethernet cabling and low voltage systems
• Understanding of telephone systems and wiring configurations

Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve cable-related issues
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate installation and testing of cable systems
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete projects efficiently
• Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and provide technical support
