Job Description Solvent Process Operator I NIGHT SHIFT HOURS: 6:00 pm - 6:00 TO 6:30 AM PAY: STARTING AT $23 AND HOUR W/SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL OF $1.75 Job Summary: The Solvent Process Operator I is responsible for offloading inbound tankers and performing highly concentrated and potentially hazardous distillations on drum and bulk loads within the Distillation Columns, Cookers, and/or Luwa unit. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols and process specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Offload inbound tankers and conduct distillation processes as instructed by the laboratory.
- Complete daily checklists to ensure proper operation of distillation units.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks and promptly report any issues with distillation equipment.
- Operate distillation units safely and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor and ensure the processing unit is functioning according to established guidelines and specifications.
- Conduct required Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures, including but not limited to GC, KF, APHA, and pH testing.
- Review and comply with all applicable SOPs, maintaining satisfactory scores on related quizzes.
- Complete and submit all necessary documentation for waste tracking movements and scanning applications.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure compliance with permit-required safety and environmental standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Accurately log operational data and monitor tank levels during processing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities Education and Experience: - Required: High School diploma or equivalent (General Studies).
- Experience: 0 to 3 years in a relevant field.
- Preferred: Certification or licensing related to industrial process operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., U.S. EPA, Local EPA, Local DOE).
- Proficiency in basic laboratory tasks.
- Knowledge of distillation systems, safety safeguards, capabilities, and operational procedures.
- Familiarity with treatment recipes and laboratory instructions for achieving specified product quality.
- Experience in an operational environment.
Travel Requirement: Supervisory Responsibilities: - This position does not have supervisory authority.

Vision and Hearing Requirements: - Vision:
- Near and far visual acuity required.
- Peripheral vision and color vision required.
- Hearing:
- Ability to communicate via telephone.
Additional Physical Requirements: - Must pass a Respirator Fit Test.
- Requires color determination.
- Must be able to stand, pull/push, carry, reach, stoop, crouch, speak, listen, taste, or smell.
- Activities include sitting, climbing, walking, lifting, grasping, crawling, and near vision acuity.
