Dental Health Associates (DHA), a leading provider of dental care with 7 clinics in the Madison area, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant. In this key role, you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, analysis, and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. You will play a crucial role in supporting the overall success of DHA by providing valuable financial insights to leadership and contributing to sound financial decision-making.
This position is employed solely by Dental Health Associates (DHA). However, the following responsibilities include DHA and all related entities.
*Responsibilities*
*Financial Reporting and Analysis*
* Prepare and analyze financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
* Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Prepare budgets and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
* Assist with the year-end audit process.
*General Ledger Accounting*
* Prepare and post journal entries.
* Reconcile bank accounts and prepare bank reconciliations.
* Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate depreciation calculations.
* Oversee month-end close procedures.
*Payroll & Benefits Support*
* Assist with payroll processing and administration.
* Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs.
*Compliance*
* Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (GAAP) and regulations.
* Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and data security for all financial information.
* Ensure the integrity of accounting information by accurately recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions in a timely manner.
* Contribute to a strong internal control environment.
*Other Duties as Assigned*
* Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.
*Qualifications*
*Education*
* B.S. in Accounting
* CPA Certification (Preferred)
*Experience*
* 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with public accounting experience highly preferred.
*Technical Skills*
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Proficiency in accounting software
* Experience with payroll processing systems (Paycom preferred)
*Essential Skills*
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills
* Ability to work both independently and effectively within a team environment.
