Research Associate, Chemistry (I-II) Essential Duties Perform and document laboratory work Assemble/disassemble and maintain laboratory equipment Synthesize, prepare and test samples according to specific methods. Review data for thoroughness and accuracy and prepare simple reports Follows Lygos policies, practices and ethics in the performance of individual duties Qualifications & Experience: B.S. Degree or higher in organic chemistry or polymer chemistry and at least 1 year in industry Demonstrated experience in organic synthesis Strong work ethic and self-motivation to perform daily duties with little supervision after initial training Basic computer skills and be comfortable with email and standard Google and Microsoft applications Good communication skills to report observations, results of experiments and test details. Nice-to-haves (but not required): Two or more years of prior work experience in a laboratory Experience in polymer derivatization and characterization, especially water soluble polymers Location information: This position is for our Hayward, CA location. The employee must work on-site at this location 5 days per week. Willing to travel up to 5% of the time. Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000 - Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location, skill, experience, and performance.
