Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS) is seeking a full time Reading Specialist to provide school-based services for a local school district.

Responsibilities:

• Shows evidence of knowledge of PA Common Core and technology.
• Works well individually and as part of a team.
• Uses research-based resources to assess individual students’ reading capabilities and generate assessments for the IEP team and case managers.
• Plan, develop, and implement a weekly intervention schedule, including individual and group treatments, co-teaching, professional development and specialized projects.
• Provides support to teachers as well as curriculum and assessment training for all teachers and instructional assistants.

Qualifications:

• Reading Specialist Certification
• MA required in Special Education.
• Strong verbal and written communication and motivational skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with, instruct, and work with students, staff and parents.

• This is a 1099 position.
• PTS provides consistent on-site and off-site mentorship with Clinical Directors and Team Leaders.
• School-Based Academy: We provide the support and community that a new School-Based therapist needs to feel comfortable and to be successful.
• Lending Library: PTS recognizes the additional expenses in providing evaluation for materials. We have an extensive library of testing tools and assessments for therapist to borrow as needed.
• Team Tuesday: Join our monthly Team Tuesdays via Zoom where you can connect with other PTS professionals to ask questions, share resources, and network.

Responsibilities:

• Assessing children’s skills and learning requirements
• Designing Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborating with parents and school staff to track students progress
