A growing chemical manufacturer with their American headquarters located in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago is seeking a Process Engineer.

The candidate for this position will be responsible for monitoring the operations of systems, including quality and compliance. The candidate should also be able to recommend improvements to the process through the tracking of metrics and reporting of data. The candidate should definitely have strong technical abilities in order to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide recommendations to existing production processes through analytics focusing on safety, efficiency, quality and sustainability. technical support as necessary
• Work with maintenance on upgrading process equipment
• Working with production to conduct SOP audits to ensure compliance with best practices and regulatory standards
• Participate in HAZOP and risk assessments
• Collect data and analyze to identify trends and patterns. Prepare reports on findings to Sr. Leadership
• Lead Six Sigma projects, Capital improvement projects and general engineering projects
• Train the production team and update SOPs around equipment design and process procedures
• Identify areas of opportunity to automate processes in the existing plant operation
• Work with automation equipment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• 1+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or related industry
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
