Job Description:

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer with expertise in computer vision to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced maritime target detection, tracking, and image enhancement systems. In this role, you will act as a technical leader, shaping the architecture and implementation of solutions for real-time and mission-critical applications in challenging maritime environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership:

  • Serve as the technical authority on computer vision projects, providing direction on architecture, algorithms, and implementation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, timelines, and deliverables.

• Computer Vision and AI Development:

  • Develop and optimize advanced algorithms for maritime target detection, object tracking, and classification.
  • Implement state-of-the-art image enhancement and super-resolution techniques tailored to maritime challenges.

• System Integration and Optimization:

  • Deploy computer vision solutions on embedded and edge platforms, ensuring real-time performance and robustness.
  • Integrate solutions with maritime sensors, cameras, and onboard systems.

• Research and Innovation:

  • Stay at the forefront of advancements in computer vision and machine learning, applying novel methods to maritime applications.
  • Solve complex challenges such as occlusion handling, dynamic backgrounds, and low-visibility conditions.

• Documentation and Standards:

  • Maintain high-quality documentation for algorithms, code, and systems.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in computer vision, software development, or related fields.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
• Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and image processing libraries (e.g., OpenCV).
• Proven experience deploying algorithms on embedded or edge computing platforms.
• Strong understanding of real-time system optimization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated technical leadership in complex software development projects.
• Experience working in the maritime domain or similar environments with unique imaging challenges.
• Knowledge of sensor fusion, radar, infrared imaging, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with defense or aerospace industry requirements and standards.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
