Role Summary

We are seeking a talented and creative Industrial Designer with a passion for rapid hand sketching to join our product development team. As an Industrial Designer, you will play a key role in the concept development process, using your exceptional sketching abilities to bring ideas to life and contribute to the overall design direction. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across various industries, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative and visually compelling designs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize your rapid hand sketching skills to generate quick and effective concept sketches, capturing ideas and design intent in a visually engaging manner.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into tangible design concepts.
• Conduct research and gather inspiration to inform your design process, staying up to date with industry trends and best practices.
• Iterate on initial concepts based on feedback and incorporate design modifications as necessary.
• Create detailed sketches, renderings, and presentation materials to effectively communicate design concepts to clients and internal teams.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh and innovative ideas to drive the design process forward.
• Collaborate closely with the prototyping and modeling teams to ensure feasibility and practicality of designs.
• Stay organized and manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to project timelines and meeting deliverable deadlines.
• Stay updated on emerging design tools and technologies to enhance your skills and contribute to continuous improvement within the design team.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience in rapid hand sketching for concept development, demonstrated through a strong portfolio of sketches and design work.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, SketchBook Pro, or similar tools.
• Solid understanding of design principles, aesthetics, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and visual, to effectively present and articulate design concepts.
• Strong technical skills in digital communication (Slack, Teams, Google Meeting) and ability to effectively capture designs and in remote meetings

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience working in a design agency or consultancy, handling multiple client projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software, such as SolidWorks, Rhino, or KeyShot.
• Knowledge of design thinking methodologies and user-centered design principles.
• Familiarity with prototyping techniques and materials, including 3D printing and CNC machining.
• Passion for staying updated on emerging design trends and technologies.
• Experience with industrial design in hardware products related/similar to: industrial machinery, robotics, consumer electronics, consumer products, household products
