We are collaborating with a well-funded startup studio that is redefining the AA games space. Backed by an Emmy-winning music artist, the studio is building its team and seeks a talented Game Designer to be one of its founding members.

The initial project is an exciting melee combat game for PC and console, developed in Unreal Engine. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment and is eager to shape the studio's creative and strategic direction.

This opportunity starts as a contract role, with a strong potential to transition into a permanent position. The team operates fully remotely but is based in Los Angeles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on the design and development of a melee combat game.
• Collaborate with the team to bring creative ideas to life within Unreal Engine.
• Shape gameplay mechanics, combat systems, and player experiences.
• Contribute to the growth and direction of a startup studio environment.

Required Qualifications:

• A passion for game design and a strong understanding of melee combat mechanics.
• Experience with Unreal Engine.
• Ability to work effectively in a startup environment, with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate remotely.
