The Front End Developer will design, develop to specification and maintain application code in accordance with the current development and project management methodologies and practices. This position will manage work assignments as directed and prepare required documentation for the portion of work assigned. The developer consults with Quality Assurance and business analysts in the development and execution of test plans and provides technical assistance and problem resolution for assigned systems. The developer also makes application changes and resolves incidents and problems according to established policies and procedures. The developer will be engaged in writing, testing, and reviewing application code and participate in a team to develop new programs and testing newly installed programs to verify functionality. Regular consultations with business analyst and colleagues concerning software requirements, design, and functionality. Participating in team design and development sessions as well as system architecture specification and design reviews.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
  • Must be able to work onsite 5 days a week in Alexandria, VA

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience. 7 years' of relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
  • Additional education, training and/or certifications are required
  • Fundamental knowledge of UI/UX principles.
  • Must have experience with Angular 13+ and RxJS.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Angular 
  • Experience using Agile project management tools(Jira, VersionOne, AzureDevOps, etc.)
  • Experience using common build and dev tools (npm, webpack).
  • Strong experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Git.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing, testing, and reviewing application code
  • Creating new programs and testing newly installed programs to verify functionality.
  • Participating in team design and development sessions as well as system architecture specification and design reviews.
  • Design or assist in development of DevOps tool chain processes to deploy/promote code from code repository to application environment.
  • The Developer performs software development and maintenance tasks assigned under the guidance of the Project Manager and Team Lead. These tasks may include but are not limited to:
  • Develop applications using Java, Javascript tools and other development systems to create or modify new application user interfaces.
  • Assess existing source code and adapt to meet current requirements.
  • Support production environment with resolving application errors.
  • Assist on team activities to analyze and improve system performance.
  • Use version control system to manage software code.
  • Update design documentation, if required, as part of correcting production issues.
  • Adhere to the agile methodologies Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Identify and provide recommendations for system process improvements

Preferred Skills:

  • React, Tailwind CSS, PrimeNG, State Management (Ngrx, Redux, flux, etc).

Compensation and Benefits Salary Range:

40 to 66/hr (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
