They are currently seeking a Food Quality Assurance Specialist to join their dynamic team.

Job Summary:
The Food Quality Assurance Specialist will oversee and enhance food safety and quality assurance programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in food manufacturing, with a preference for those familiar with meat processing operations. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, internal policies, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor food safety and quality assurance programs, including HACCP, GMP, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections of raw materials, production processes, and finished products.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues to maintain product integrity and safety.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure adherence to quality control standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage internal and external audits, including preparing required documentation and addressing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with CFIA, FDA, and other relevant food safety regulations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on food safety and quality standards to employees.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records related to quality assurance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance, preferably in a meat processing facility.
  • In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations (CFIA, FDA, etc.).
  • Experience with quality control systems, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in documentation and reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with meat processing quality assurance programs.
  • Certification in HACCP, SQF, or other food safety standards.
