Our client, a prominent leader in the customized environmental testing equipment industry, is actively seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join their team in Southampton, PA.

The Environmental Testing Systems division specializes in crafting custom testing equipment for the Automotive and HVAC sectors, catering to industry giants such as GM, Ford, Nissan, Trane, Carrier, and Formula 1 teams. The ideal candidate will install, diagnose, and start up testing of custom industrial systems, about 3 new client installations a year.

We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience with industrial controls systems within a custom equipment manufacturing setting. The desired candidate should be self-motivated as you will be the only Service Technician for this division, possess a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and have experience with PC and Allen Bradley PLC controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission, install and troubleshoot new OEM industrial equipment
• Conduct electrical wiring, including assembling and wiring control components and devices as per schematics.
• Work with PC and PLC controls, with a focus on Allen-Bradley systems, to ensure effective equipment functionality.
• Collaborate in site start-up and commissioning activities, guaranteeing optimal equipment performance.
• Execute repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment to sustain operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the successful integration and functionality of custom industrial systems.
• Conduct comprehensive system testing to identify potential issues and ensure robust performance.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment configurations, changes, and issues for future reference and analysis.
• Assist in the development and modification of control system programs for efficient operation.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems.
• Provide on-site support to end-users

Candidate Qualifications:

• 5+ years in troubleshooting new industrial equipment
• Must have worked for an customer equipment manufacturer
• Electrical wiring skills, including the ability to assemble and wire control components and devices according to schematics.
• Strong Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting ability
• Experience in onsite start-up, commissioning activities, performing repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment
• Willingness and ability to travel to client sites nationwide (approximately 25-30% of the year)
• Ability to work independently

Pay Rate : $35-$40 per hour + overtime

Location : Southampton PA, Monday-Friday; 40 hours a week + OT

Flexible on start time

Travel required : ~20-30% annually nation wide to client sites.
