We’re seeking a dedicated EHS Manager to lead and elevate our environmental, health, and safety programs at a large manufacturing facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong expertise in environmental compliance, including Title V air permits , hazardous waste management (preferably with paint experience), stormwater pollution prevention , and wastewater management . Reports directly to the Business Unit Director of EHS and in-directly (dotted line) to assigned location Plant Manager. As a part of the extended corporate EHS team, this position will periodically be assigned to corporate initiatives or teams and/or directed to assist other company locations/Organizations with projects (remote or travel to location).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations.
  • Manage environmental permits, including air, water, and waste, while ensuring required reports and testing are completed.
  • Drive safety initiatives, lead incident investigations, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Conduct EHS training to ensure compliance and foster a culture of safety.
  • Analyze EHS performance metrics, identify trends, and implement improvement plans.
  • Lead emergency response plans, drills, and training for the site.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership on sustainability initiatives and capital projects to assess EHS impacts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related Science field is required. Master’s Degree in EHS or related Science field is preferred. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 10 years’ experience within EHS function will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in EHS function preferably within a Manufacturing setting with direct responsibility for EHS activity and experience with Regulatory Agency interactions (inspections, official written response, arbitration, etc.) . Advanced degrees and certifications may count in lieu of years of service
  • Required 2 or more years’ experience of EHS leadership responsibility (organizational and/or direct reports) Preference for applicable EHS related professional certifications (ASP, CSP, IHIT, CIH, CHMM, etc.)
  • Must have strong environmental health and permit knowledge and experience specifically with Title 5 Air Permits, Large Quantity generator of Hazardous Waste, Stormwater, Spill and Wastewater experience and understand how process changes can impact permitting for a site. A CHMM credential is highly desired.
  • Thorough understanding of EHS science; analytical and problem-solving skills; strong communication skills (speaking and listening). ·Working knowledge of EHS regulation with strong understanding of OSHA and EPA laws
  • Basic management skills to include formalized methodologies (goal setting, performance tracking, etc.) 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong business acumen
  • Experience with leadership positions and ability to manage complex operations and projects
  • Incumbent will be required to adequately function with basic software programs (Windows, MS Office, etc.)
  • Works with minimal direct supervision at all times based upon the incumbent’s experience, judgment and understanding of regulatory requirements, management systems and site objectives. Most decisions are jointly made by collaboration with assigned site management teams (e.g. Plant, Supply Chain, etc.)
  • Occasional Domestic US travel (2–3 trips per year) is expected for this position
  • Majority of work will be performed in typical office, warehouse and Manufacturing plant environment. Occasional work in laboratory, and manufacturing operations environments
  • Position may occasionally require moderate physical work necessary for emergency response duties

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $100,000 + Bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. (Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week.)Full-time* team members receive** medical, dental and vision benefits starting day 1.
