Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven EHS Manager to lead compliance efforts, elevate safety programs, and champion a culture of safety excellence. This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive top-down initiatives, actively engage with plant personnel, and implement strategies that ensure regulatory compliance and operational safety. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proven ability to lead programs, influence change, and achieve impactful results. This position will report directly to a Senior Regional EHS Manager, and indirectly (dotted line) report into the locations respective Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and compliance calendars. Oversee reporting and documentation for regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Safety Leadership:

    • Drive the development and continuous improvement of a robust safety program.
    • Lead top-down safety initiatives to instill a culture of safety excellence.
    • Conduct training and emergency preparedness drills to enhance safety readiness.
  • Engagement and Change Management:

    • Actively engage with plant personnel to promote safety awareness and adherence to best practices.
    • Lead EHS committees and collaborate with site leadership to foster a proactive safety culture.
    • Influence and drive change at all levels to ensure program success and sustained improvement.
  • Capital Projects and Continuous Improvement:

    • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate new processes, equipment, and capital projects for EHS impacts.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance compliance and safety performance.
  • Program Management:

    • Monitor EHS metrics, analyze trends, and communicate performance to leadership.
    • Set and achieve annual goals for safety excellence and compliance enhancements.
    • Serve as the primary EHS representative for assigned locations, ensuring alignment with corporate initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related Science field is required. Master’s Degree in EHS or related Science field is preferred. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 10 years’ experience within EHS function will be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with at least 2 in leadership, in EHS function preferably within a Manufacturing setting. Advanced degrees and certifications may count in lieu of years of service.
  • Experience implementing safety programs and leading teams to achieve operational excellence.
  • Preference for applicable EHS related professional certifications (ASP, CSP, IHIT, CIH, CHMM, etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of EHS science. Working knowledge of EHS regulation with strong understanding of OSHA and EPA laws
  • Thorough understanding of Environmental regulations including air permitting, Stormwater Pollution Prevention, Wastewater and Hazardous Waste Management
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of driving change and engaging employees at all levels.
