Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Ray County Hospital and Healthcare

Location: Richmond, MO (40 mins from downtown Kansas City)

Type: Full-Time, Executive Leadership

Ray County Hospital and Healthcare, a well-established Critical Access Hospital (CAH) in Richmond, Missouri, is seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. The CFO will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial operations, ensuring financial health, and contributing to the hospital’s mission of delivering high-quality healthcare to our community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight: Direct all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
• Strategic Leadership: Partner with the CEO, Leadership Team, and board to develop long-term financial strategies that support hospital growth and sustainability.
• Revenue Cycle Optimization: Supervise billing, collections, reimbursement, and payer relationships to maximize revenue and cash flow.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors, CEO, and senior leadership, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including those specific to Critical Access Hospitals. Manage audits and compliance processes.
• Cost Management & Efficiency: Identify areas for cost savings and implement strategies to maintain financial stability in a complex healthcare environment.
• Leadership & Team Development: Mentor and lead the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of financial management experience preferred. Experience in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) or rural healthcare setting highly desirable.
• Knowledge & Skills:
• In-depth understanding of healthcare finance , including reimbursement systems, regulatory requirements, and cost control strategies.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in financial software, healthcare finance systems, and Excel.
• Personal Attributes: Ethical integrity, commitment to patient-centered care, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
