The successful candidate will be tasked with the design, coordination, and implementation of all administrative aspects related to the department's clinical, research, and education activities. This includes oversight of operations and finances across multiple legal entities, managing a substantial grants and contracts portfolio, and supervising a large education program for residents, fellows, and various medical students. The role is pivotal in ensuring the department's tripartite mission is supported, with a focus on HR, credentialing, finance, billing and compliance, IT, supplies, and equipment. Candidates for this position should have an advanced degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field, with a preference for those with 5-7 years' experience in perioperative and surgical services. Previous experience in an academic medical center is essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial and analytic skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and a proven track record in team building and management. Knowledge of hospital and university finance and administration, as well as experience with a physician practice plan and managed care, is highly valued. The role requires a leader with demonstrated leadership qualities, marketing skills, and a commitment to work process improvement, particularly in the areas of clinical practice and service excellence.
