Job Summary:

The Wisconsin Reading Center seeks a collaborative individual to provide statistical data for ophthalmology reading. The WRC is a core lab within the Department of Ophthalmology. This position is responsible for analyzing data using statistical software and techniques, including longitudinal analysis, mixed-effect modeling, and regression analyses. They help provide monitoring for clinical trials and experiments to ensure adherence to protocols and data quality. The candidate will be responsible for supporting research staff with data cleaning, providing quality control metrics, and providing data reports as requested. Designs and analyzes statistical comparisons for study trials and scientific research. Works closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, scientists, and other researchers.

Responsibilities:

Provides biostatistical consulting and assists with and contributes intellectually to the development of study design and methodology in collaboration with physicians and scientists conducting biomedical, life sciences, clinical, and population health research.
  • 20% Evaluates, prepares, analyzes, and interprets existing data and sources, selects and applies appropriate statistical methods, and prepares summarized reports
  • 20% Assists with development of research study designs for research projects
  • 20% Assists with designing and implementing statistical methods and applicable resource materials used for research projects
  • 20% Advises on best practices and established policies, procedures, and regulations and conducts biostatistical analysis for internal and external stakeholder groups
  • 20% Contributes to preparing, writing, editing, and submitting research manuscripts, presentations, reports, research grant and contract proposals and/or post-award reports to funding agencies

Education:

Preferred
Master's Degree
Biostatistics, statistics, public health or related field with an emphasis in biostatistics preferred.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Experience with biostatistical testing such as sample size calculations, T tests, ANOVA and regression modeling
  • Proficiency with R or another major statistical package such as SAS, STATA, or S-Plus
  • Ability to apply statistical techniques, summarize results and produce reports
Preferred:

  • Experience with management and analysis of clinical trial data at a central coordinating center, or imaging data, or large public research datasets, or longitudinal cohort data
  • Familiar with Xml, Excel, SQL

Full Time: 100%


This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Terminal, 12 month appointment.

Salary:

Minimum $71,994 ANNUAL (12 months)
