The CAHHEP-accredited Exercise Science Program in the Department of Health Sciences in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department houses an undergraduate Exercise Science degree, Public Health, Radiography, Healthcare Management, and Wellness and Health Promotion and Athletic Coaching minors with the potential for growth including graduate programs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty and staff to teach and mentor students for careers in Exercise Science and related disciplines

Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
* Teach courses in the Exercise Science curriculum, as determined by area of expertise
* Mentor and advise a diverse student population;
* Participate in Program, Department, College, and University events, as required;
* Foster a respectful, educational environment supportive of the University's Catholic and Lasallian mission
* Engage in service and scholarship to the Program, Department, University, and discipline;
* Participate in student and program assessment;
* Support accreditation requirements
* Collaborate with programs in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and other units on campus (Recreation, Athletics, etc.)
* Perform other duties as assigned by Departmental and Program leadership;
Minimum Qualifications
* Earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics or a related field from an accredited institution. ABD or candidates with master's degrees may be considered with appropriate experience.
* Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to advising and mentoring students.
* Evidence of ability to produce scholarly/research in the areas of exercise science.
Preferred Qualifications
* Successful undergraduate teaching experience
* Experience collaborating with various disciplines to advance client health and performance
* Experience designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for athletes and youth.
